  At just 10 months old and 34 pounds, Archie is a wonderful medium-small companion with a bright white coat that gives him a striking Jindo-like look.

 🐾Benji is a purebred, 5-year-old husky who was purchased from a breeder at 13 weeks old and raised in a home alongside a human sister and two cats.🐾

In April, his owner made the devastating decision to surrender him for his own safety when she entered a domestic violence shelter.

Benji has a seizure disorder that is easily controlled with regular meds. He was therefore scheduled for euthanasia. He’s now in a foster home with a big and a little dog.

He’s a fully healthy good boy who loves pizza, watching basketball and being around his people.

His foster says Benji is a unicorn husky. He’s a chill, low-energy dog who can be left alone at home on his own for hours. He loves nothing more than napping on his bed or in the sun, though he will also happily go on long walks or to the park.

He is quiet (she has never once heard him howl or even talk back) and fully housetrained. He does not resource guard and, in fact, has been known to let his foster sister eat his treats right out from under his nose.

He has some anxiety due to his background and this sometimes leads him to growl when asking for space. A behaviorist who met with Benji said he is “incredibly polite” and that his growls are simply communication. He needs someone who understands this and who will give him space when he asks for it.

He does fine with all strangers and other dogs–he just gets stressed out when someone reaches over his head unexpectedly or encroaches too quickly when he’s in a small enclosed area (like the car) without warning. His signals are very clear and the reaction is easy to mitigate with treats.

Because of his anxiety, Benji needs a husky-savvy adopter based in Los Angeles who is willing to do a slow transition with his foster. Benji will do best with someone familiar with dog communication signals or truly willing to learn and who is committed to helping him continue to heal and trust. He would probably love living with another calm dog or two, but he also does fine on his own. 

Caleb is a handsome 2-year-old Shepherd mix, possibly with some Australian Kelpie, weighing about 70 pounds.

He has the perfect combination of an adventurous spirit and a loving heart.

Caleb loves going on walks, playing with female dogs, and spending time with his people.

He’s currently in a foster home with a professional dog trainer, where he’s made incredible progress. He now walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, knows his commands, and has learned great manners. Even better, he’s good with cats!

Caleb is wonderful with kids and absolutely adores women. He’s an affectionate, friendly, and loyal boy who loves being part of the family.

He enjoys being active, learning new things, and then relaxing with the people he loves.

Rescued from a shelter when he was emaciated, Charlie is now on his journey toward a brighter future!

His foster family is seeing his sweet side! Charlie has bonded with his foster and her daughter, and he gets along well with the other animals in the home, including cats.

Charlie needs a little extra understanding. He is fearful of strangers and is currently working with a professional trainer to build confidence and feel safer around unfamiliar people. He is making progress, and with patience, consistency, and continued training, he has the opportunity to keep blossoming.

    Cooper is a sweet-hearted, playful dog who loves his ball and being around people and other dogs.

Hes about 1 years old and 50lbs black lab mix. He has an easygoing temperament. If another dog is too pushy, he’ll just roll over and show his belly.

He’s smart and picks things up quickly. He just needs structure and consistency. He learned “sit” and “shake” within just a couple of days!

Cooper walks well on a leash and is both potty trained and crate trained. 

He will rest in his crate during the day and is a great sleeper. He also does well being left home alone in his crate — he may let out a few barks at first, but settles down after a couple of minutes.

He has a good amount of energy, and two long-ish walks a day seem to do the trick.

He’s a very affectionate dog who loves cuddling and being close to his humans.

Overall, he’s a goofy little lovebug who doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body.

  Dak is a handsome 3-year-old boy with a calm, gentle personality and just the right amount of playful energy.

While he may seem a little reserved at first, once he feels comfortable, his goofy, loving side starts to shine. 

He’s the kind of dog who enjoys peaceful mornings, soaking up pets and affection, especially when you encourage him to be the center of attention.

Dak is a wonderful house guest. He’s fully house-trained, knows how to let you know when he needs to go outside, and has been an absolute gentleman when left home alone. He has adjusted beautifully to apartment living, but he would also love a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, play, and relax in the sunshine.

His favorite toy? A tennis ball! 🎾 Whether it’s a game of fetch in the yard or a stroll through the neighborhood, Dak is happiest spending time with his people. He also enjoys hikes when the weather is nice and cool.

Dak currently lives with two cats and has done remarkably well. While he occasionally gets curious and may give chase, he respects their boundaries and quickly backs off when they let him know they’ve had enough. His foster rarely has to intervene.

He’s also wonderful with people and children, making him an easy companion for many different types of families. His sweet, easygoing nature makes him a joy to have around.

Dak’s story began with heartbreak. He was found abandoned in a hotel room alongside a cat after his owner was unexpectedly hospitalized. They were left alone for several days before being rescued.

Despite everything he’s been through, Dak has remained incredibly loving and trusting, and now he’s simply waiting for someone who will never leave him behind again.

Flower does wonderfully with other dogs and would make an amazing sister to a resident pup.

She originally left North Central Animal Shelter with a foster, but when her foster got a new job and Flower wouldve been crated all day, it just wasnt the right fit.

Jack is a great companion. He adjusted to home environment quickly and loves being indoors but also loves his walks and hikes.

Jack is a smart boy and is very friendly with all humans and all dogs. He has not been tested with cats.

jack is not a barker! He is not reactive to sounds or other dogs barking! He has puppy energy and loves to play but will also adjust to your mood. He is eager to please and be part of a family. He loves to stand up on his hind legs to give you a hug or a kiss. 

He will also try to climb up in your lap as a small puppy. He knows basic commands. He walks with Halti nose collar the best. Jack would make a great companion to  kids who he can run around and play with.
